(FOUNDER'S STORY)

Meet Kirsty

The founder behind the studio.

Building Murni meant rethinking what success looked like for me.

You found us! Thank you for stopping by our little corner on the internet.

I’m Kirsty, the founder of Murni Studio. Over the past fifteen years, I’ve worked across corporate marketing, advertising agencies, small businesses and my own creative ventures.

My work has taken me across countries, industries and many different ideas of what it means to build something meaningfully successful.

That experience gave me a strong foundation in strategy, storytelling and the commercial realities of business. Understanding what I wanted to create with it took longer.

In 2018, I left my corporate career and moved to Canada. Working with local businesses brought me closer to the people behind the brands: their ideas, their livelihoods, the communities they were part of. I could see the difference thoughtful creative work made in someone’s everyday life. It renewed my love for what I did and opened up a different picture of what my career could become.

When I returned to Australia in 2020 and the borders closed, my plans changed. I started my first business, The Mrkt House, working with clients in Perth and Canada.

Even with years of experience behind me, I questioned whether I knew enough to do it on my own. So I did what many capable, conscientious founders do. I worked harder. I took on more. I became deeply invested in solving every problem I could see.

There was always another layer beneath the brief. A marketing problem might lead back to an unclear offer. A website might reveal that the business had evolved while its message had stayed the same. I loved finding those connections and making sense of the whole.

But the way I had built my business was becoming unsustainable. Long days, blurred boundaries and a growing distance from my own creativity brought me back to patterns I recognised from corporate life.

Changing those patterns took time. I had to reconsider what I offered, how I worked and how much of my sense of worth I had tied to being useful to everyone.

That’s when my business evolved to Murni Studio.

It was a conscious rebuild around the work I cared about most: bringing original creativity, grounded strategy and a deeper understanding of people together to create brands with substance and character.

My training as an NLP practitioner added another perspective to my work. It deepened my interest in the beliefs, habits and expectations we bring into our decisions as founders, alongside the practical demands of running a business.

That is why we work from the inside out at Murni. We make room to understand the person, the business and the ambition before shaping how the brand speaks, looks and lives in the world.

Today, through the studio, advisory and founder retreats, I work with people who have built something meaningful and are ready to shape what comes next.

I know how much can change between starting a business and finding your own way of leading it. There is room for your brand to grow with you.

(WHAT MAKES MURNI, MURNI)

What makes Murni, Murni.

A brand should feel true to you and make sense to the people you want to reach. Our work brings those two worlds together, blending original creativity, grounded strategy and a thoughtful understanding of the person behind the business.

01

We begin with the founder.

Your values, perspective and ambitions are an important part of your brand’s foundation. We take time to understand what you’ve built, what matters to you and where you want to go. Alongside your audience and market, this shapes a direction that feels right for you and gives your business room to grow.

02

We give intuition space, and ideas direction.

You know your business in ways that a questionnaire alone could never capture. We make room for that knowledge, including the ideas you haven’t quite found words for yet. Through honest conversation, thoughtful questions and strategic exploration, we turn those instincts into clear choices about your brand.

03

We find distinction in what is already yours.

Your way of thinking, the care behind your work and the things your clients come back for all hold creative potential. We draw out these qualities and give them a distinct expression through language, design and experience, so people can recognise what makes your business worth choosing.

04

We consider how everything connects.

From the first search to your website, proposal and welcome email, every interaction contributes to how your business is understood. We build from shared foundations, bringing your positioning, message and visual identity together so your brand feels familiar and considered wherever someone encounters it.

05

We bring the right people into the work.

We partner with expert designers and marketing specialists whose skills serve the needs of your project. Murni guides the strategy and creative direction, giving everyone a clear understanding of the brand we’re building together.

Each discipline deserves dedicated expertise. This approach brings depth of craft to the individual pieces, with the care and direction needed to make them work beautifully together.

06

We bring experience, and stay close to the work.

Led by Kirsty, Murni draws on more than fifteen years across corporate marketing, agencies and independent businesses, alongside the lived experience of building a business herself. There is room here for honest feedback, considered decisions and a personal working relationship with people who care about what you’re creating.
